What better way to get to know your legislators in Annapolis than to have them to lunch. One day beings with top government officials such as Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown, Comptroller Pete Franchot and often several high-powered lobbyists. The Leadership luncheon follows where each Baltimore County delegate is invited to speak and present their areas of focus. A visit to the General Assembly in session is always impressive and a highlight of the day.

What's it like to be in the line of fire? How many gangs are active in Baltimore County? Class participants actually experience what is feels like to walk in a Baltimore County Police Officer's shoes as they spend a day at the Police Academy. Chief of Police James Johnson addresses the class along with other top-ranking officials in the Baltimore County Police Department.
April 4 - An Evening at Center Stage, Sponsored by Brotman Financial Group
To round out our Leadership program, an evening spent discussing the arts in Baltimore's own ricdhly-acclaimed Center Stage is an added treat! Center Stage's Manage Director addresses the class and a full, backstage tour is given by trained dancers. Of course, the evening wouldn't be complete without a fabulous show!

County Executive Kevin Kamenetz kicks off the day with a frank discussion on the "state of the county." Lunch with the Baltimore County Council follows as we hear from each and ever member of the Council regarding what's happening in their respective districts. Open Q&A ends our seminar day session.
May 21 - Community Analysis Projects, Sponsored by Susquehanna Bank
Our eyes are opened and our minds expanded as we learn about each and every community within Baltimore County. From Dundalk and Essex to Woodlawn and Pikesville, class participants research a community and present their findings to the class. Creativity is a "must" in the presentations!
Graduation - Closing Retreat, Sponsored by CareFirst
A time to reflect back on all the lessons learned throughout the year and translate them into action. Facilitated by a professional, the group looks inward and builds a plan of action for their commitment to community after their Leadership experience is completed. Dinner and networking along with a graduation program follow the Closing Retreat session.
